More fall arrivals at Talbots
Happy National Day of Encouragement, everyone! Thank you for joining me to see more fall arrivals at Talbots.
When I saw there were more fall arrivals at Talbots, I wanted to go one more time before the move and check them out.
Since my friend, Karen, just had her colors done, she is open to shopping more right.
On the National Day of Encouragement, I want to encourage Karen…she is looking fabulous in her new summer color palette.
So, join Karen and me to day…and let’s shop more fall arrivals at Talbots.
MORE FALL ARRIVALS AT TALBOTS: WE BOTH TRIED IT ON
Both of us took this garment into the dressing room, so it was a great place to start with new fall arrivals at Talbots.
What is crazy is that we both took the same navy color (indigo blue)…but in this picture, her garment looks black…it is not.
This is the DOUBLE BREASTED DUSTER CARDIGAN. It is very soft and not that heavy.
Karen tried it on with the white NON-IRON PERFECT SHIRT.
If you are a fan of dusters, this is a classic, current way to wear one.
MORE FALL ARRIVALS AT TALBOTS: KAREN
This royal blue color is so beautiful on Karen.
She is between sizes 10 and 12, and more comfortable in a Large.
She is wearing the LATTICE CABLE JOHNNY COLLAR SWEATER.
Karen and I are both active grandmothers who help care for kids, so this outfit is pretty good for that role.
She has on the AIR KNIT STRETCH JACKET in BURGUNDY BERRY, with the AIR KNIT STRETCH JOGGERS in Black.
We discussed how good a top like this one is for South Texas in the fall when the weather is still pretty warm.
This is the ELBOW SLEEVE DENIM POPOVER.
Karen really likes the RICH BURGUNDY color at Talbots.
She tried on the SOFT SATIN CHARMEUSE TOP in rich burgundy, at the same time she tried the cords.
Almond Buff is the color of these STRETCH CORDUROY FLARE LEG PANTS…she likes the Rose Color, and the sales associate said it was a popular choice and going fast.
MORE FALL ARRIVALS AT TALBOTS: ME
This was my favorite garment when I went to try on more fall arrivals at Talbots.
Out of all of the ponchos and capes I have tried on so far, this one is the top in casual chic.
A scarf or necklace would make the look perfect.
This is the BUTTON PONCHO in INDIGO BLUE…it also comes in camel and I recommend sizing down.
Talbots takes athleisure wear a step up in the fall arrivals at Talbots.
The design, fabrics and fit exceed the typical athletic designs.
I am wearing the PASSPORT PONTE ZIP MOCKNECK PULLOVER…I am wearing black, but it does come in blue and burgundy…this was the only one in my size.
The only pants in my size were the burgundy and I do love these pants.
They are the PASSPORT PONTE PINTUCK STRAIGHT LEG PANTS. Very comfortable…love the fit and the length.
I think this sweater is really nice, but I would need to get accustomed to the length.
Also, I would need to size up to wear it over a top as they have it styled online.
I am wearing the RAGLAN SWEATER JACKET in CIDER PLAID.
You know how I love a blazer with my jeans.
So I wanted to try on this TAILORED STRETCH BLAZER in the rich burgundy
I like it! It is available in so many beautiful colors.
I am also wearing the SOFT SATIN CHARMEUSE TOP.
Finally, I do love this jacket…just wish it was just a little longer.
But, for those who like this length, it is a keeper….and beautiful.
This is the BERKSHIRE WOOL BLEND CROP JACKET in Ivory….lovely.
This is the third post I have done with more fall arrivals at Talbots. They are ready for the new season.

For all your shopping, please use the links on my SHOPPING PAGE…thank you, thank you to all who shop this way.
On this national day of encouragement, I want to thank you for all the encouragement I find in your blog. Whether you are sharing a favorite scripture, a family story or discussing some of the challenges you faced in the last few years, I always appreciate your positive take on life in this season.
It’s so much fun seeing you and Karen shopping together, especially since she and I wear the same size. If she doesn’t mind you sharing, it would be helpful to know how tall she is to get an idea of how things might fit. I hope that burgundy blazer came home with you. That’s such a great color on you, and could be dressed up or down. I keep trying to find something in Talbots fall collection to use the coupon I have, but I always end up back on the J Jill website buying more. I am doing some last-minute panic buying for an upcoming week in Nashville that will be partly work, partly vacation. I have not lost weight prior to the trip as I have hoped, so now I’m trying to add a few pieces that could be altered later when the pounds finally start to come off. Fall clothes are my very favorite. Thanks for keeping us up-to-date on all these new options!
Thank you, Lorri, for encouraging me! I think Karen and I are the same height at 5’7” but I will confirm with her. I am certain you will look fabulous in Nashville!
National Day of Encouragement What a great idea and a good time to thank you for all the encouragement you give us each day on your blog. Its where I start my day because you will always lift my mood. I will try today to find a way to encourage others today. I agree that the button poncho is the best looking and most polished I’ve seen too. Did it come home with you? I’m not a poncho girl but I did go to Talbot’s to check out the blazer in camel. Its very well made and a classic. I tried on both regular and petite sizes but non of them fit me properly so I wound up ordering the camel sweater blazer from J Jill. I do not have very good luck with Talbot’s colors or their sizing so my coupon will also go unused as did my birthday discount. But I do enjoy seeing your try on sessions because it gives me a much better idea of how the clothes look on real women who are not strangely posed like the models in the catalog. Happy Thursday!
Thank you for the encouragement today, Kathie! I hope your day is full of blessings!
Thanks for your dedication to helping women feel confident. I know you don’t agree, but I think the white knit jacket looks great on you and the length actually makes your legs look longer and balances you well. Just an observation on my part.
Thanks,Ann. That jacket is beautiful…I still struggle a little with confidence in shorter lengths so I appreciate your comment.
I agree with Ann u look great in that jacket! Also I’m soo in love with burgundy, I have a top and cardigan to wear when it gets cooler in tx. Also black ankle boots I wore for a test drive yesterday. So comfortable. All from Walmart!
I agree with the other ladies that you are a good source of encouragement for your readers, National Encouragement Day is a fine fit here!
Alrighty, then, quit influencing me, ha! I went to Chico’s yesterday, did not buy the cardigan you showed the other day, But, found clearance denim “culottes” that fit like a glove. Now, I think the Raglan Sweater Jacket you’re showing from Talbot’s, might be just the thing to go with the culottes! Have a great day–nice to see a try-on buddy with you (Karen).
Thanks so much, Kim. On Monday, Karen & I will have Chico’s finds. The Raglan sweater here is really cute!
I loved that cider plaid jacket (even the name :)). It looked lovely on you and would be so versatile. On this day of encouragement, I would urge you to try wearing the shorter jackets. For a while, I wouldn’t even try them on, but now I own several. They do take some getting used to, but they are a great silhouette with wider pants. Because I’m sensitive about my puffy tummy, I wear a tank or even a blouse under them and the tops peek out longer than the jacket. You still get the modern line but you are covered. Karen looks great in that bright blue … it could be her signature color!
Thanks Linda…I do own a few of the shorter jackets but find that I am not reaching for them. I will push myself to reach for them more and then perhaps I could consider another. I am working on my puffy tummy, and may feel better about them as that gets smaller. Thanks for the encouragement!
I agree with the others, the ivory jacket looks so pretty on you. Though, even at 5’1 , I have struggled recently with shorter tops. To have the sleeves and shoulders fit properly, I tend to order Petite, but at times, it is just too short for my comfort level. So, I can certainly relate to your concern. I also wanted to ask/ comment about the raglan sweater jacket. I loved it as soon as I saw it online. However, the reviews said it ran short and fitted. I see in your try on that it is short, did you find it to be fitted? Also, was it very heavy weight? It’s called a jacket, but I wouldn’t want a sweater that is so heavy that I would overheat indoors in.
Thanks for always having such a positive outlook. I really enjoy your posts.
Thanks Sandy. I would call the Raglan sweater fitted, but not heavy. As I said in the post if I bought and wanted a top under it I would size up…for me, that would be a woman ‘s size. So it does run a little small.
Happy Day of Encouragement to all the ladies, and to you, dear Pamela. 💐 You certainly are a constant source of positivity and encouragement. You and Karen both looked terrific in your try-on session, and I agree with others here that the shorter plaid jacket was so cute on you. Happy Thursday! 💕
Thank you, Connie! Have a wonderful day!
Thank you for being an encourager for all your readers! I will add my encouragement to you as you make this change in your life.
Thank you for featuring the rich burgundy color. Since it looks good on you & Karen, I think it might be a good color for most of us. I purchased the charmeuse blouse in teal & love it, so I am thinking about one in the burgundy. I also like the pullover top in that fabric & the blazer. I like Talbott’s because most of their clothing comes in petite plus sizes which is a rarity.
Thank you, Becky. I believe one of the reasons Talbots clothing looks so good is fit. For many the fit is excellent.
The raglan cider plaid sweater and the ivory jacket look great on you! Try some trouser style jeans from Chicos that kiss your feet with the shorter tops. That gives the balance for the short tops. You are 6 inches taller than me. You are so lucky to be tall! I loved the button poncho on you too. Karen looks terrific in all of the blues, my color! Even at my lighter weight, I still have a fluffy middle. It is very annoying. I will be 80 in December and want to still look stylish and cute. Keep giving us all such fun try ons!
I will do this whenever the opportunity is there. Thanks Sydney!
Thanks for your encouragement you send to us each day. Blessings
You both looked great in your outfits. I loved the poncho on you, it looked fabulous!
